Bazaar is about communities and entities that are formed to commercialise and make use of gold. Some of these include the government, importers and bullion traders, wholesalers, kaarigars, manufacturers, refiners, retailers, and consumers involved in the functioning of the gold market in Ahmedabad, India. The photo series was created after interviewing wholesalers and goldsmiths to understand how they perceive gold, as they deal with it on a daily basis. In Manek Chowk, Ahmedabad – The people and spaces continually interact with gold, and this work attempts to visually represent the people, business activities, working spaces, and the ways in which they value gold.
